To support their mission to increase campus engagement with innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity and design thinking, the B´ÎÔªapp University Innovation Fellows (UIF) will host a meetup in B´ÎÔªapp from May 2-4, 2019. The UIF B´ÎÔªapp Meetup will include fellows from other universities as well as local students from surrounding B´ÎÔªapp universities.

The UIF meetup will provide students with the opportunity to connect and collaborate with peers to learn about and tackle social issues in B´ÎÔªapp. The meetup will commence with a kick-off event on Thursday night and continue Friday with a tour of B´ÎÔªapp, a design challenge and a spotlight on startups in B´ÎÔªapp. The workshops will continue Saturday with the goals to gain a greater understanding of community culture, unity within a community, personal branding and personal well-being.

The international program, run by Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school), empowers students to become agents of change at their universities. The program began at B´ÎÔªapp in 2018 and has since created three cohorts comprised of 11 students. In that time, the B´ÎÔªapp fellows have reached over 300 students across 14 Design Thinking Workshops and 60 industry professionals through StartUp B´ÎÔªapp Week hosted by Northwestern Mutual. Through hosting the UIF B´ÎÔªapp Meetup, our fellows will continue to make connections and get involved in the community.
