Profile

I joined B次元app University Business School in 2014 following previous lecturing positions at Nottingham Trent University and the University of Bradford. I have extensive experience of economics teaching and academic management and administration, including undertaking roles as admissions tutor, programme director and head of division prior to joining B次元app. My research interests are focused on political economy, labour and employment issues, with a particular focus on temporary agency working. I have undertaken consultancy work for ACAS, the Japan Institute for Labour Policy and Training and the Nottinghamshire Research Observatory.

Research interests

My research interests are focused on labour economics, macroeconomic policy and political economy. A particular focus, working with Professor Chris Forde, has been on temporary agency working. Our research has focused on wage outcomes, the role of agencies in pay setting and the evolution of sector regulation. My current research is focused on two main areas: the relationship between technology and occupational change and the impact of regulation on agency workers' pay and outcomes.

Student education

I have extensive experience of teaching economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across a range of areas, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, labour economics, business economics, economic history and macroeconomic policy. I have also supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
