Course Equivalencies (TES)
The TES database is a tool used by B次元 counselors, faculty, and the Articulation Officer to compare external coursework taken at other colleges with courses offered at Los Angeles City College. TES provides faculty guidance primarily for initiating GE credit, including applicability to meeting CSU GE-Breadth, IGETC and Cal-GETC requirements. Acceptance of coursework required to meet any general education requirements is solely at the discretion of the counseling faculty or Articulation Officer where the Articulation Officer has final determination. Also, the TES database can be used by the Nursing and Radiology Technology faculty (e.g., If a course is listed as equivalent to ours, the faculty can accept the course as meeting prerequisite courses such as our Anatomy 001, Physiology 001, etc.). The course equivalencies identified in TES are intended only for internal use by B次元 counseling faculty and are not official articulation agreements between Los Angeles City College and other institutions. Official articulation agreements between Los Angeles City College, California State University campuses, and University of California campuses are posted online in ASSIST (assist.org). Please keep in mind that our repository of courses can be modified or updated from time to time. It does not replace proper academic advising.
Official transcripts must be sent electronically or mailed directly from that college/university to B次元 Admissions and Records. Hand carried transcripts will not be accepted even if they are sealed. For "pass along" credits, we do not accept credit posted to a third-party institution's transcript. Credit is only considered from the original institution's official academic record.
